The Colorado Party (61 years grip on power in Paraguay) is the world's longest-ruling political party, came to power 2 years before China's Communist Party.

in April Fernando Lugo achieved a historic victory in Paraguay's presidential election , defeating the ruling party candidate and ending 61 years of conservative rule.
